Plugin boosts RTOS insight

An AVIX-RT product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Jul 28, 2008

The AVIX Viewer Plugin can be freely downloaded from the AVIX-RT website, together with a free demo version of AVIX Version 2.2.1.

AVIX-RT has released the MPLAB RTOS Viewer Plugin, enabling direct insight in the internals of an application based on the AVIX RTOS.

Compatible with all versions of AVIX, the AVIX Viewer Plugin shows the state of the AVIX kernel objects used by an application.

Kernel objects supported by AVIX and thus presented by the AVIX Viewer Plugin are threads, mutexes, semaphores, event groups, pipes and memory pools.

The AVIX Viewer Plugin can be used both when simulating an application in the MPLAB development environment or when running on real hardware interacting with MPLAB through an ICD2 or RealICE.

When using the AVIX Viewer Plugin with the MPLAB simulator, it offers the added advantage of real-time updates.

While the application runs, the AVIX Viewer Plugin constantly updates the state of the application kernel objects with a user-selectable refresh rate.

The AVIX Viewer Plugin enhances the testability of an AVIX-based application and adds to the dynamic nonintrusive trace facility built into the core of AVIX, Thread Activation Tracing.

The AVIX Viewer Plugin can be freely downloaded from the AVIX-RT website, together with a free demo version of AVIX Version 2.2.1.
