AVX has released a new series of surface acoustic wave (SAW) filters for use in mobile phones and GPS applications.

AVX has released a new series of surface acoustic wave (SAW) filters for use in mobile phones and GPS applications.

The SF16 series includes the industry's smallest chip-scale package (CSP) SAW filter, measuring just 1.6 x 1.4 x 0.6mm.

These devices provide low loss and high attenuation characteristics and are ideal for developers of cellular phones (1.9MHz PCS and 800MHz) and GPS systems (1.5GHz).

Providing support for advanced voice quality, the SF16 series is intended to complement the latest technology in mobile phones.

The devices are optimised for CDMA mobile communications, featuring full compatibility with Qualcomm's MSM6000 series CDMA chipsets for mobile phones.

Sealed with a flexible external resin and lead-free hermetic soldering, the device is protected against mechanical shock and harsh environmental conditions.

A flip-chip mounting style is used with the SF16 series.
