AVX has extended the voltage range of its TMC series of tantalum capacitors with 16 and 20V offerings.

AVX has extended the voltage range of its TMC series of tantalum capacitors with 16 and 20V offerings.

The TMC series is currently available in 0402, 0603, 0805 and 1206 or K, L, R and A case sises with capacitance values from 0.47 to 68uF and a rated voltage range of 3 to 20V.

This series is approved to HRC5000, the AVX specification for implantable grade Tantalum Capacitors.

The high volumetric efficiency of this construction allows for significant downsizing from the traditional leadframe style capacitors while maintaining performance and reliability, which is key in applications such as pacemakers and defibrillators.

These devices have low leakage current specifications supporting extended battery life operation.

The TMC series meets Weibull grade level B as a minimum and each manufacturing lot is subjected to conformance testing prior to release.

The series is approved over the temperature range -55 to +125C and is supplied in tape and reel or waffle pack and is available with either tin or gold termination finish.
