AVX is now offering a high voltage series within its Flexiterm range of capacitors.

Extending its flexible termination technology, AVX is now offering a high voltage series within its Flexiterm range of capacitors.

Designed to enhance the mechanical flexure and temperature cycling performance of standard ceramic capacitors in 600 to 3000V applications, Flexiterm V+ delivers a solution to cracking caused by board flexure and temperature cycling.

The industry standard bend test used to assess the mechanical strength improvement of the devices, demonstrated that Flexiterm V+ parts provided at least twice the bend resistance associated with standard capacitor technology.

Parts come in 1206, 1210, 1808, 1812 and 2220 case sizes, delivering capacitance values between 150pF and 0.15uF.

AVX devices in the 1000 to 3000V range uses multilayer series capacitor (MLSC) technology, notable for splitting voltage distribution in the component and reducing electric field stresses.

Comparative testing has also shown that Flexiterm technology is three times more resistant to failures caused by temperature cycling, achieving up to 3000 temperature cycles compared with the industry standard of 1000.

Flexiterm V+ components are available in RoHS-compliant matt tin and tin lead finish.
