AVX Corporation has expanded its Bestcap series to include ultra-low ESR double layer capacitors with an expanded temperature range from -40 to +75C.
Suitable for wireless applications, the capacitor series features high capacitance values and power pulse characteristics for high-current, short-pulse applications including GSM /GPRS wireless-based systems, USB modems, automatic meter-reading systems, hand-held scanners, battery chatter, dying gasp and memory backup systems.
Bestcap double-layer capacitors are available in three different standard sizes with voltage ratings from 3V to 15V and a capacitance range from 6.8 milliFarad to 1 Farad.
The three standard sizes for the Bestcap capacitor are BZ05 (20 x 15mm), BZ01 (28 x 17mm) and BZ02 (48 x 30mm).
The BZ05 size offers the most aggressive capacitance value of 68 milliFarads at 5.5V and 6.8 milli-farads at 15V.
The BZ02 has the largest capacitance value with 1 Farad at 5.5V and 68 milliFarads at 15V.
