Smaller size for TransFlash card connectors
Alps Electric has expanded its range of connectors for TransFlash memory cards.
Alps Electric has expanded its range of connectors for TransFlash memory cards.
The surface-mountable SCHB series devices feature a hinge cover with an opening angle of 90 degrees, which allows easy handling with manual coupling and decoupling of the TransFlash memory card.
A lock mechanism prevents the memory card from falling out while in operation.
The SCHB series is remarkable for its compact external dimensions of 15.0 x 14.6 x 1.93mm.
It is rated for 3.6V DC and up to 0.5A per pin and allows up to 500 mating and unmating cycles.
The operating temperature ranges from -20 to +70C.
Further technical specifications are a maximum initial contact resistance of 100mohm, an insulation resistance of up to 1Gohm and a voltage proof of 500V AC for 1min.
The card connectors are suitable for lead-free reflow soldering.
Packaged on embossed tape, they are available in minimum packing units of 1400 pieces.
Alps' accumulated precision micropress technology and polymer processing technology has made it possible to develop smaller and thinner connectors.
Because of their slim external dimensions these connectors will increase the degrees of design freedom for set makers, contributing to their efforts to produce thinner, more compact devices.
Typical applications are in next-generation mobile phones.
