Axiomtek has developed a new series of extended temperature embedded SBCs based on three of the its most popular 3.5in Capa and 5.25in Petit boards.

Axiomtek has a new series of extended temperature embedded SBCs based on three of the its most popular 3.5in Capa and 5.25in Petit boards The latest additions to the growing Axiomtek embedded product line are ideal for an array of industries, systems and industrial applications requiring high-performance, low-power, low-thermal-load computing in extreme temperature environments ranging from -25 to +70C

Available in two compact form factors in choice of high-performance Pentium-level or Intel Pentium M processors and configurations, Axiomtek's extended temperature embedded SBCs include the 300MHz SBC84500VEA-300 and SBC84510VEE-300 3.5in Capa, and the 600MHz SBC83810VEA-600E 5.25in Petit computing platforms.

Manufacturers, system integrators and software developers are able to select the most appropriate platform for their systems based on bandwidth, video, Ethernet communications and audio requirements.

All the boards come with Microsoft's Windows CE.NET 4.2 and Windows XP embedded operating systems preloaded onto a solid state disk (CompactFlash) for greater system design flexibility.

"The three new computing platforms represent our continuing commitment to meet our customer requirements in industrial applications", said Matthew Lee, Axiomtek Product Vice President.

"We are constantly applying our engineering expertise to introduce the most timely, advanced and reliable systems and components to provide our customers with faster system development times and optimal time to market for new solutions".

The three available SBCs provide customers with the needed flexibility, high reliability and scalability for extreme environmental applications.

Each board has been uniquely engineered to reduce heat generation using a ruggedised fanless design for maintenance free convenience.

Furthermore, Axiomtek has taken extreme measures to test and validate each SBC design across all temperature ranges to ensure the computing platforms meet its high-quality MTBF and board integrity standards.

As complete turnkey computing platforms, customers are able to maximise their competitive advantage for deploying next generation systems faster, while minimising development time and costs.

Customers who require customised support are able to work with Axiomtek using its eSmart custom integration services.

In as little as 30 days, Axiomtek will perform custom integration work on a customers chosen computing platform including device drivers and IRQ settings; embedded operating system support, customer proprietary device drivers and applications; bootloader, utilities, and more as required - further reducing development time for the customer.

As a result of the customisation work, the customer has a tested and validated SBC platform ready for mass production.
