Axiomtek's latest 5.25in embedded SBC is designed for network applications.

Axiomtek's latest 5.25in embedded SBC is designed for network applications The SBC8A808 supports the Intel Pentium M processor 760 with a 533MHz front side bus (FSB) and 2Mbyte L2 cache, and integrated Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset and built-in PCI Express Fast/Gigabit Ethernet interfaces

Axiomtek's SBC8A808 is engineered with two SATA channels as a hot-plug feature.

It supports two 184-pin DDR DIMM sockets up to 2Gbyte, and supports dual segments with non-ECC memory.

The Serial ATA provides users an even transfer rate of 150Mbyte/s.

The capacity will be doubled as long as customers use 300Gbyte Serial ATA hard drives.

In addition, it can be built with software RAID functions using any storage operating system.

Manufacturers, system integrators and software developers will find this an ideal platform for systems based on bandwidth, video, Ethernet communications and audio requirements.

"The embedded computer platform fulfills high performance system configuration demands and demonstrates Axiomtek's continuing commitment to meet customer requirements in network applications", said Philip Wei, Product Manager, Industrial Computer and Network Appliance Division, Axiomtek.

"With the Intel Pentium M processor 760, Axiomtek can deliver a high performance, low power platform with integrated graphics which is an excellent combination for the network video streaming and network security market segment".

The Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset supports PCI Express bus architecture, a highly scalable general purpose I/O for the latest industry peripherals.

The LAN configuration has two Gigabit Ethernet ports operating through one advanced PCI Express interface.

The embedded board supports fail-over, load sharing and load balancing functions for critical network environments.

Moreover the Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset integrates graphics function and supports dual channel LVDS for various embedded applications.

The SBC8A808 breaks through the bottleneck of online data-intensive I/O usage including sharing and transaction.

It designed for network applications such as I/O bandwidth control, Level 7 security appliances and load balancing.

In addition, Axiomtek offers barebone customisation, ID design and embedded OS programming services.

I/O features include CompactFlash, one RS232 and one RS232/422/485, audio, S-video connector for TV out, one FDD, one parallel, VGA connector, and four USB 2.0 ports.

Obviously this is not only a network-intensive platform, but a multiple I/O SBC.

The SBC8A808 will be available by the end of October 2005.
