New from Axiomtek, the SBC83820 is a 5.25in-format embedded SBC that supports the latest Intel Pentium M and Celeron M processors at both 400 and 533MHz FSB The board incorporates the Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset which increases the front side bus (FSB) bandwidth by up to 33% over the previous generation

The Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset supports the PCI Express bus architecture, a highly scalable general purpose I/O for the latest industry peripherals.

The SBC83820 has dual Fast Ethernet ports built-in by default and offers optional Gigabit Ethernet via the PCI Express interface.

The Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset integrates graphics functions and supports dual channel LVDS for various embedded applications.

The platform supports one 184-pin socket for DDR2 400/533MHz memory technology which improves peak memory bandwidth by up to 60% and offers power savings over traditional DDR memory.

To support future expansion, the SBC83820 has 32bit PCI extension interfaces and PCI Express for three x1 high performance addon cards.

"The SBC83820 is an ideal solution for HMI and control node with remote control through TCP/IP over Ethernet's infrastructure", said Joseph Chou, Product Manager, Axiomtek Embedded Computing Division.

"With the above advanced features, the platform is the first embedded platform which is with PCI Express expansion support and high performance display functions for various upcoming applications".

Axiomtek's SBC83820 is engineered with two SATA channels to create a hot-plug feature.

The Serial ATA provides users an even transfer rate of 150Mbyte/s.

The capacity can be doubled using 300Gbyte Serial ATA hard drives.

I/O features include CompactFlashTM Type-II with DMA mode support, three RS232 ports, one RS232/422/485 port, audio, one FDD, one parallel, one LPT, one IrDA, VGA connector, and four USB 2.0 ports.

The SBC83820 is available now.
