The EP820 is an EPIC form factor SBC which features the latest Pentium compliant chipset, the Intel 915GM with ICH6M Available in a choice of configurations and options, the SBC offers developers a robust and reliable platform to build on with the added benefit of being able to realise faster times to market for new products

As a member of the ICA, Axiomtek joins a large community of communications and embedded developers and solution providers.

EPIC is a new standard single board computer (SBC) with a defined 115 x 165mm form factor that suits a broad range of applications for which EBX is too large a solution and PC/104-Plus would require multiple boards.

The standard allows PC-style connectors for I/Os instead of the pin-headers common on PC/104 designs, and it also tends to increase reliability, particularly in environments that are prone to extreme shock and vibration.

The EP820 SBC supports both Intel Pentium M and Celeron M processors running at 400MHz and 533MHz FSB speeds for convenient logistic and better CPU performance.

To meet the EPIC for PC/104 form factor expansion compliance, the EP820 is equipped with a PCI-104 slot for 32bit PCI addon interfaces.

Furthermore, the board offers a dual LVDS LCD option.

It is a popular display solution for transaction terminals, such as DualView self-help fueling machines and DualView POS systems.

"The EP820 continues to strengthen our appeal to developers as they are able to come to one manufacturer for all embedded requirements", said Matthew Lee, Vice President of Embedded Computing Division.

"Each time we introduce a new product to one of our product lines, we are addressing customer needs".

"This has historically been our commitment to our customers and it will continue to be our commitment in the future".

With Intel IPD's commitment, the EP820 is guaranteed to be shipped under a long term supplying trend.

Additionally, the SATA IDE design also ensures customers have the most updated peripherals without the headache of swapping boards due to a peripheral's end of life.

Other rich I/O features include dual LAN, four USB 2.0 ports, audio and digital I/O maximise customers' business opportunities to adopt the board into various applications.

The board will be available at the end of December 2005.
