A range of network appliances meet the demands of systems integrators, software developers and manufacturers seeking to reduce time to market.

Axiomtek has developed a range of network appliances (NAs) for systems integrators, software developers and manufacturers seeking to reduce time to market The company reckons that each of its network appliance models will reduce end-users' total cost of ownership (TCO) and can be used for VPN gateways, load balancing, network bandwidth management, SSL, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and much more

The NA-0043 is an ultra-low-power mobile small-form-factor and easily integrated platform for Internet-enabled devices.

The NA-0043 network appliance platform makes outstanding use of a ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) Intel Celeron M processor with an Intel 852GM North Bridge chipset.

It has up to a total of four 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet ports and supports extreme data transaction performances in a network layer.

For system logins with monitoring and building control proxies, the NA-0043 has space for a 2.5in hard drive for use by software solution providers.

The platform is optimised for datacommunications and can be configured to fit different customer requirements accordingly.

It also supports a LAN bypass function definition for power lost, and OS or application program boot-up failure, to make sure there is no downtime.

Finally, the NA-0043 also supports Pentium M CPUs for increased process performance.

The NA-1301 supports high performance Intel Pentium M processors, which have an Intel E7501North Bridge chipset.

Through the Intel 82546 and Intel 82540 gigabit Ethernet controller, the platform offers three gigabit Ethernet ports.

The LAN1 and LAN2 ports support Gigabit copper or fibre connections (per customer specification).

The ports support high networking transfer rates through a PCI-X 64bit/100MHz bus.

The LAN3 port supports a 32bit/33MHz PCI interface and can be a managed port in the appliance platform.

The NA-1301's system memory can support up to 4Gbyte of DDR SDRAM.

Because of its low power consumption and commercial server block infrastructure, the NA-1301 is very suitable for firewall applications in inter-building, campus network and long-haul network environments.

Supporting new generation Intel Pentium 4 processors (Prescott) with Intel 875P North Bridge chipsets, the NA-1801 supports up to a total of eight gigabit Ethernet ports and supports extreme data transaction performance in a network layer.

This 1U extreme slim platform is optimised for datacommunications.

The Ethernet port configurations and combinations can be changed to fit different customer requirements accordingly.

The NA-1801 supports a LAN-bypass feature for abnormal status.

It can support different bypass levels with this feature such as power, BIOS boot, OS and application program failures.

There is an option is for customer firmware downloading via SMbus EEPROM.

To offload the CPU utilisation and to speed up the VPN encryption/decryption performance, the NA platform also features one PCI-X 64bit/66MHz slot for VPN encryption boards or any compatible feature card expansions.

The NA-2701 series has extreme computing capability with hyper-threading technology in the dual processor configuration.

The NA-2701A and NA-2701B (NA-2701 series) network appliance platforms support Intel Dual Xeon processors with an Intel E7501 North Bridge chipset.

They feature a 2U form factor, and support redundant power supplies without down time.

The NA-2701A supports a total of seven gigabit Ethernet ports with copper connectors.

As for the NA-2701B, it can support four gigabit fibre connections and three gigabit connections with copper; the fibre connection uses Mini-GBIC SFP interfaces.

It can be deployed with multimode or single-mode fibre transceivers to fulfil different customer requirements.

A powerful enclosure management BIOS features is also included, such as BIOS to console port, LCM setting functions, and so on, which can help customers to easily manage their systems.

For system logs with monitoring and building control proxy, the network appliance has space for two 3.5in hard drives, which can be used for software porting by software solution providers.

The platform can support very critical environments.

The devices can be used in enterprise-sized networks, campus networks and secure metropolitan area networks.
