Axiomtek has launched a new low power EPIC form factor SBC, the EP812, which supports Socket 478 for Intel Pentium M and Intel Celeron M processors running at 400MHz FSB speeds.

Axiomtek has launched a new low power EPIC form factor SBC, the EP812, which supports Socket 478 for Intel Pentium M and Intel Celeron M processors running at 400MHz FSB speeds Alternative options include low-voltage Intel Pentium M and ultra-low-voltage Intel Celeron M processors

Available in a choice of configurations and options, the SBC offers developers a robust and reliable platform to build on with the added benefit of being able to realise faster times to market for new products.

The EP812 features a DVI-I display function which is a popular display solution for both DVI and CRT signal output for dual external display applications such as digital signage appliances.

For wireless terminal applications, it supports Mini PCI Type III for off-the-shelf expansion modules.

This embedded board is particularly suitable for multimedia applications that require more computing power, such as home advertisements, public information and entertainment and so on.

The EPIC standard allows PC-style connectors for I/Os instead of the pin-headers common on PC/104 designs, and it also tends to increase reliability, particularly in environments that are prone to extreme shock and vibration.

"The EP812 continues to deliver the various application oriented solution as PC-based embedded platform like DSA.

It continues to strengthen our appeal to developers as they are able to come to one manufacturer for all embedded requirements", said Joseph Chou, Product Manager of Embedded Computing Division.

"Moreover, with Intel IPD's commitment, the EP812 is guaranteed to be shipped under a long term supplying trend".

This function-rich board provided DualView for both LVDS LCD and CRT displays, dual Gigabit Ethernet for network communication, four USB 2.0 ports for high speed peripherals, and digital I/O for industrial control applications.

Other rich I/O features include dual LAN (10/100/1000Mbit/s), CompactFlash and AC97 audio.
