Pentium 4 Mini ITX Board with rich I/O
Axiomtek demonstrates a new cost-effective Mini ITX motherboard, the SBC86806 which supports the popular socket 478 for Intel Pentium 4, Intel Celeron and Intel Celeron D processors
Axiomtek, an Associate Member of the Intel Communications Alliance (ICA), is pleased to demonstrate a new cost-effective Mini ITX motherboard, the SBC86806, which supports the popular Socket 478 for Intel Pentium 4, Intel Celeron and Intel Celeron D processors running at 400/533MHz FSB speeds for convenient logistic and better CPU performance.
It is an ideal core engine for POS, transaction terminal applications.
Compared to the existing Mini ITX form factor platforms without solid state disk support in the market, the SBC86806 provides USB DiskOnModule (DOM) interface for embedded OS storage with booting capability.
Besides, it takes advantages of cost and LVDS LCD output interface from desktop architecture and laptop computer respectively.
Available of the above features, the embedded platform gives system integrator a superfine balanced solution between performance and cost.
The SBC86806 reserves PCI expansion interface through riser card and supports rich I/O features including 4 COM ports, 6 USB 2.0 ports, and 8 channels Digital I/O.
The Mini ITX SBC's standard form factor and rich I/O features make it an incredible engine for enclosures, and the standard form factor takes advantages of system implementation and makes it a ready solution for embedded applications.
"The SBC86806 lowers the total cost of ownership by dramatically reducing customer's system implementation costs and improving time-to-market by standard form factor" said Joseph Chou, Product Manager of Embedded Computing Division.
"It conveys an application oriented solution as PC-based embedded platform like POS.
The SBC86806 is a systematic apparatus to developers as they are able to come to one manufacturer for all embedded requirements".
This function-rich Mini ITX SBC provided CRT and LVDS LCD displays, one fast Ethernet for network communication, six USB 2.0 ports for high speed peripherals, and Digital I/O for industrial control applications.
Other rich I/O features, which include, watchdog timer and AC'97 Codec Audio, maximise customer's business opportunities to adopt the board into various applications.
The RoHS compliant product will be available around the end of December, 2006.
