Axiomtek announces EP850 single board computer

Axiomtek has announced the EP850, a single board computer equipped with the Intel GM45 and ICH9M chipsets.

The EP850 supports 45nm Intel Core2 Duo T9400 processor with a 667/800/1,066 MHz FSB.

The EP850 is powered by the Mobile Intel GM45 Express chipset with integrated Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD.

Axiomtek said this enables the EP850 to offer excellent 3D graphics and dual-view capability, and support numerous display output options including CRT, LVDS, and Displayport (optional).

The EP850 is specially suited for solutions that need more effective computing, management and security, and graphics performance, such as digital video recorders (DVR), digital security surveillance, gaming machines, entertainment, visual inspection instruments and video servers.

The EP850 supports dual-view display and has maximum video memory of up to 256MB by sharing the system memory.

A built-in Displayport (optional) based on micro-packet protocol allows the EP850 to deliver higher data rates for multiple-monitor environments using a single signal cable.

One dual-channel DDR3 SO-DIMM SDRAM socket supports up to 4GB system memory.

Moreover, this embedded board features Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2, which is designed to enhance platform security.

The EP850 provides six USB 2.0 ports and two serial ATA ports with transfer rates up to 300 MB/s.

One PCI-104 slot is available for system expansion.

Other onboard I/O features include eight digital I/O, two powered COM ports (2 x RS-232), dual gigabit LAN, high definition audio, and Compactflash for SSD storage devices.

Windows Vista, Windows XP embedded, and Linux operating systems are all supported.

A watchdog timer is included to keep system running smoothly.

The product is RoHS compliant and will be available in early November 2008.
