More space and machinery for Axis
Bedfordshire based electronics manufacturing service provider Axis Electronics has recently invested in both additional floor space and manufacturing capabilities.
Following further growth during 2005, Bedfordshire based electronics manufacturing service provider Axis Electronics has recently invested in both additional floor space and manufacturing capabilities.
Paul Wilson, Sales and Marketing Manager at Axis commented: "We now have three selective soldering stations in operation which has made the PCB assembly process more reliable and repeatable".
"We operate to IPC-A-610 Class 3 as a site standard and manufacture a lot of very complex, high-layer count, mixed technology PCB assemblies so this additional capability has been well received by our production management team".
"In addition, we have also increased our total manufacturing floor space by facilitising a further 4000ft2 of floor space to allow us to further improve the workflow".
"We used lean tools such value stream mapping and cellular manufacturing to ensure we made maximum use of the new area".
Axis Electronics was originally part of Texas Instruments before a MBO in 1995.
