This thin, and very compact e-server consists of a 1U compact, rack-mount design that offers flexible solutions suitable for ISPs, telecommunications, VOD and data centres.

Designed to meet stringent data storage requirements, the RS-100-RT is equipped with three hot-swappable Ultra 160 SCSI drive bays with hardware RAID modules and Advantech's high-performance motherboard.

The motherboard is embedded with dual Intel Pentium III processors up to 1.4GHz, and ServerWorks ServerSet 3 OLE chipset supporting 133MHz front-side bus up to 4Gbyte memory.

High levels of efficiency and performance stability are achieved through the dual CPU motherboards, which can manage different programming in parallel computing and transmit huge quantities of data at the same time.

The RS-100-RT series has a set of complete I/O functions including dual Intel 82559 Fast Ethernet controllers with support for 10baseT and 100BaseTX through RJ-45 connectors.

In addition, the server can support RAID (0,1,5) and the third LAN without occupying any PCI slots and the 64bit/66MHz PCI slot enables support of a proprietary two-port Gigabit LAN card without the need for a PCI bridge chip.

As datarates increase, so the potential for errors also increases.

The RS-100-RT is bundled with PC-133-registered SDRAM with error correcting code (ECC) ensuring data is read and, if necessary, corrected.

Available now, the RS-100-RT includes a replaceable cooling system and the front panel indicators and alarm system enables users to detect fan speed, chassis temperature, system voltage, HDD status and power supply failure, that can be monitored via optional simple network management protocol (SNMP), management information base (MIB) software.
