The MIC-3081 is a 10U-high enclosure with eight 6U CompactPCI slots for rack mounting Supporting an eight-slot backplane and rear I/O, the MIC-3081 provides a flexible, very stable and easy to configure development platform

These features, combined with simple installation makes the unit ideal for telecomms, Internet and industrial automation applications.

The 6U-sized, eight-slot backplane with H.110 CT-bus supports 32/64bit operation and complies with the PICMG 2.1 hot-swap specification.

The MIC-3081 can accommodate up to three devices, for additional system storage expansion.

Of the eight CompactPCI slots available, slots one to seven are available for 32/64bit CompactPCI peripheral boards, while the eighth slot is dedicated to the system master.

All CompactPCI open architecture standards are met and the unit is compatible with a wide range of different manufacturer's CompactPCI boards.

A 2U space below the card slots accommodates two 163ft3/min high-speed fans.

In addition there are two high-speed blowers on the top and all fans within the chassis are hot-swappable, allowing replacement without any interruption to the system operation.

The fans' tachometer output enables the alarm module to monitor the speed of the fans and a protective circuit has been designed in to the fan back plane to reduce spikes and noise during the fan-swapping.

The built-in, OS-independent chassis management module (MIC-3924) ensures system stability and real-time status.

It is an intelligent SNMP/HTTP system management module that can be integrated in to Advantech's computing platforms, providing users with a more convenient way to manage servers remotely via the Internet or a phone line connection using any web browser or SNMP-based software.

The MIC-3924 alerts users to any potential system failures by SNMP trap, e-mail or pager messages.

It can detect a range of internal systems conditions including temperature, voltage, fan rotation and system operation. Request a free brochure from Advantech (UK) ...
