Aldec has signed a site licence for 10,000 Riviera HDL simulators to be installed at Renesas Design Viet Nam.

Aldec has signed a site licence for 10,000 Riviera HDL simulators to be installed at Renesas Design Viet Nam.

Renesas has purchased Riviera-SNA (Simulator for Networking Applications) to be used for parallel verification of their microprocessor based system-level designs.

The agreement between Aldec and Renesas covers a three-year period, is renewable and provides a virtual site licence with access to 10,000 HDL simulators simultaneously.

Aldec will be working directly with Renesas on setup and configuration and will provide direct on-site support throughout the design lifecycle.

The partnership will be analysed quarterly and adjusted based on further verification requirements and implementation of other Aldec products such as hardware acceleration and coverification.

"We are pleased to be working with Aldec and look forward to a successful partnership to address the verification demand of our next generation devices", stated Tsuneo Sato, President of Renesas Design Viet Nam.

He added: "Our best strategy for developing new technology is to work very closely with a company such as Aldec who is dedicated to providing solutions to our verification problems".

"The opportunity to work closely with a company as prestigious as Renesas to solve their verification problems only validates that our solutions and support are of the highest quality", stated Stanley Hyduke, President of Aldec.

"Through close relationships with our customer base, we will continue to evolve our products and services to address the growing and changing needs of the design engineers in the field".

Designers' increased use of automatic testbench generation tools over the last two years has caused rapid growth in simulation needs.

This surge has resulted in an explosion in the number of testbenches and, in turn, simulation time needed for verification.

Because of this, current simulation farms with access to 100-500 simulators can no longer do a satisfactory job.

Together Aldec and Renesas are overcoming the challenges of verification time with the installation of Riviera-SNA.

Renesas has access to 10,000 high performance simulators for quick certification of all design changes.
