USB host controller at full speed
Azzurri Technology has NEC's uPD720100 USB 2.0 host controller.
The GPS core is based on the SiRFstarII chipset and offers superior TTFF acquisition rate combined with low power consumption.
The GSM core is software compatible with the popular Falcom A2D(L) and CM2C modules as well as with the Wavecom WM2C and WMO3i devices.
The Falcom C2D-SI enables system partners and OEMs to quickly upgrade existing platform or create completely new applications, benefiting from an improved price/performance ratio.

Bluetooth SoC hops to resolve wireless conflicts
Zeevo has developed a system-level Bluetooth solution aimed at the PC market, the TC2000-PC.
Complete Bluetooth SoC runs from a 3.3V supply
The Zeevo TC2001 is a fully integrated Bluetooth SoC combining radio, link controller, audio and CPU functionality in a single chip.
The C2D-SI is easily integrated into an OEM product.
The design of the module allows the customer to fit components underneath, reducing the effective area of the PCB used.
In addition to the integrated SIM card port in the module, a set of connections are available on the module, allowing customers to place an alternative SIM card connector within their system.
The GPS core supports trickle power modes, reducing the operating current of the GSM function by a factor of four.
This coupled with excellent GPS acquisition times allow the unit to maximise battery life.
Power management software is included to allow customers to tailor the duty ratio of the trickle mode, allowing further power savings to be realised.
The interface to the module is via simple RS232 interface (logic levels), using the flexible AT command set.
The module is supported by Falcom's test software.
This allows customers to exercise the unit with a minimum of development time.
It also allows developers to analyse the commands used to perform common functions and quickly integrate these to complete their application.
Customers can also purchase an evaluation kit, which includes a unit to allow the evaluation module to connect to a host computer, GSM and GPS antennas, a headset, a power supply and data cables.
Target applications include vehicle tracking, security applications, mobile diagnostic equipment, portable data loggers, surveying equipment, point of sales equipment, inventory tracking systems and adding wireless functionality to a wide range of existing equipment.
The C2D-SI and Falcom's complete range of full type approved GSM/GPS and GPRS embedded modules, GSM/GPS plug and play devices and GSM/GPS development kits are available through Azzurri.
