Complete Bluetooth SoC runs from a 3.3V supply

The Zeevo TC2001 is a fully integrated Bluetooth SoC combining radio, link controller, audio and CPU functionality in a single chip.

The TC2001 incorporates the ARM7TDMI CPU core with sufficient performance to support many embedded applications.

The TC2001 is implemented in a 180nm CMOS process and uses unique LTCC package technology to integrate all RF components/digital circuitry/and Flash memory; the only external components needed are an antenna, crystal, reference resistor, and decoupling capacitors.

The TC2001 is designed for cost sensitive, very low power applications and requires a single 3.3V supply voltage.

The TC2001 incorporates all value added features of its predecessor, the TC2000, but adds: audio capability; Class 1 support; automatic crystal tuning for improved manufacturability; lower power consumption; and improved RF performance.

Joyce Putscher, director at market research firm In-Stat/MDR, said "The TC2001 is indeed one of the most integrated Bluetooth single-chip solutions specifically targeted for designers who do not want to deal with unfamiliar RF territory - yet quickly wrap-up the design with minimal BOM".

"Since the TC2001 is form, fit and function compatible with the TC2000, current mass production customers of TC2000 can easily switch over to the TC2001 and make use of its value added features".

Typical applications include PCs, PDAs, printers, MFPs, digital cameras, USB adapters and modems.

The TC2001 is supported with the BlueDolphin II evaluation kit that provides all essential hardware, firmware and documentation to fully evaluate the performance of the TC2001.

The BlueDolphin II comes with BT1.1 compliant HCI stack and supports a variety of popular 3rd party upper layer stacks and profiles.

The highly integrated TC2001 is manufactured in a 10.9 x 13.1mm package with 65 balls.
