ASIC cuts Bluetooth interfaces down to size
Brain Boxes has developed a new CompactFlash interface ASIC that will shrink the active parts count of Bluetooth CF and PCMCIA cards to two chips.
The Bluetooth wireless connection also reduces the setup time between PC and whiteboard.
The TDS Activboards work in conjunction with a PC and an LCD/DLP projector to provide an interactive presentation medium for the education, police, health and corporate markets.
Digital technology on the board and in the Activpens mean that ease of use, speed and convenience are all maximised.
Bluetooth adds to these benefits by bringing wireless connectivity between the board and a PC up to a range of 50m.
TDS is offering these optional Bluetooth kits, and has selected Brainboxes BL-521 serial convertor and BL-554 USB adapter through its reseller channel.
These Bluetooth devices when used with the TDS Activboards will guarantee wireless operation up to a range of 50m - more than sufficient for the classroom or office environment.
Tim Porter, Product Manager of TDS, commented: "Our work with Brainboxes has helped us provide our customers with a more flexible product, removing the need for a physical link between the PC and the board and making the boards even easier to use".
Eamonn Walsh, Managing Director of Brainboxes, added: "Brainboxes is always looking to partner with leading companies who bring the latest technologies to market in innovative ways.
In TDS we are happy that we have found a partner able to offer a serious Bluetooth application with benefits in terms of safety and convenience for business and educational users".
