A Brainboxes product story

In its 24th year of trading, Brainboxes has decided the time is right to open a US office to better serve its expanding customer base in North and South America.

Serial and Bluetooth specialist Brainboxes has opened an office in Florida, USA.

Brainboxes has been working successfully with US resellers for several years and, now in its 24th year of trading, has decided the time is right to open a local office to better serve its expanding customer base in North and South America.

Brainboxes has been planning the move for several years and has not taken this important step lightly.

"Our forward planning identified the USA as a key target market three years ago".

"Brainboxes is a global company and we believe that to provide our global customers with the best service we need to be as local as possible", says Stephen Evans, Managing Director at Brainboxes.

"Brainboxes' personnel have been working with UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and Liverpool ITC (International Trade Centre) during this period to learn 'the American way'".

"We visited several potential locations in the USA and attended joint US/UK business seminars to ensure that we were fully informed before we took such a big step".

Brainboxes has opened its office in Clearwater, Florida, a strategic location that will enable the company to also efficiently service Central and South America - another area the sales team is increasingly targeting with the company's successful range of serial and Bluetooth products.

In the USA, Brainboxes has already been working closely in partnership with Tech Data in Florida and Ingram Micro to ensure efficient supply to US channel and OEM partners.

It has also signed up manufacturers' representative companies to raise awareness of the Brainboxes' brand within other leading USA-based global PC vendors and the IT supply channel.

To ensure that this move went as smoothly as possible the UKTI identified Roger Frampton of ExportAction as a mentor to Brainboxes.

He has worked with many UK ICT companies aspiring to establish and develop business in North America and has been involved in setting up successful ICT businesses in the USA.

"I first encountered Brainboxes at a UKTI event in North West England and was immediately impressed not only by the quality of the company's products and business philosophies but also their sales potential in the world's largest single country market for ICT, the US", explains Frampton.

"Brainboxes is based in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida where the company has found a vibrant economy and an extremely 'business friendly' environment".

"Key to the Brainboxes setup in the USA is a demonstrable commitment to the market".

"Having a local address for web and printed marketing material, real people (not voicemail) to speak to and 'in country' telephone numbers shows they mean business".

"I am highly optimistic about Brainboxes' future in the US market", adds Frampton.
