Passive component specialist BC Components is to expand its production capabilities for manufacturing electrolytic aluminium screw terminal capacitors in Europe.

Passive component specialist BC Components is to expand its production capabilities for manufacturing electrolytic aluminium screw terminal capacitors in Europe.

The move, which reflects the company's further commitment to the European industrial electronics sector, will see the production of screw terminal electrolytics expanding at the BC Components facility in Zwolle in The Netherlands.

BC Components is a worldwide manufacturer of screw terminals in the US and Europe.

Discussing the announcement, Leif Schwan, BC Components' Global Industry Marketing Director, Industrial, comments: "Europe is an increasingly important market for our high-performance, long-life screw terminal electrolytic capacitors.

Expansion of our existing European production capabilities means that we can more easily address this market while providing customers with the dual benefits of competitive pricing and reduced lead times.

Our specialist knowledge, built on years of experience, has provided us with a platform on which to expand.

Local manufacture also means local engineering expertise, allowing us to further improve the levels of support that we can provide to European manufacturers of industrial electronic applications".

Screw terminal capacitors manufactured in Zwolle will now offer capacitance ratings from 470 to 680,000uF and case sizes (diameter x length) from 35 x 50 to 76 x 146mm.

Products will include the company's 125 series of long-life parts for high-end industrial applications operating at up to 100V and 125C, and the 105 and 106 series featuring ratings from 10 to 450V and suitable for high-performance applications operating to 105C.

The 85C 111 and 112 series with voltage ratings from 10 to 450V and lifetime operation in excess of 300kh at 40C will also be produced at the facility.

The expansion of the Zwolle facility is part of a long-term strategy that will see further progress in specific functionalities by the end of the year and in following years.
