Composite video cables come in bunches
Belden now offers three of its most popular SDI/HD coaxial cables in the company's patented Banana Peel construction.
Belden now offers three of its most popular SDI/HD coaxial cables in the company's patented Banana Peel construction.
Belden's Banana Peel composite video cables - 1855A, 1505A and now 1694A - not only claim the industry standard for outstanding digital video performance, but also provide the convenience of installing multiple cables in a single pull.
Belden's family of versatile precision video snake cables is ideal for use in the most demanding applications, including: HD/SDI video; component video; unbalanced analogue or digital audio (AES/EBU); computer CAD/CAM; high end computer graphics and animation; live studio, field and mobile television; and high-resolution monitors and projection imaging in corporate boardrooms, command and control centres, auditoriums, teleconferencing centres, home theatres, performance venues, post-production facilities and houses of worship.
Belden 1855A, 1505A and 1694A Banana Peel constructions are available in bundles of three, five and six.
All cables are pre-timed to ensure a delay difference of less than 5.0ns/100ft between coaxes, allowing for "cut-and-connect" installation with no TDR or Vectorscope timing required.
The result is a dramatic reduction in installation time, expense and complexity.
Belden's patented, jacketless Banana Peel construction provides further reduction in installation time and complexity by eliminating a whole step in the termination process.
With each individual cable component within the composite cable clearly marked and colour-coded, installers need only peel the correct cables off the centre spline and terminate.
With no overall jacket, the composite cables have a smaller OD than traditional bundled cables, which improves the cable's bend radius and also permits the use of a smaller size conduit.
To ensure best-in-class return loss performance, Belden's Banana Peel Precision Video Snake Cables are 100% sweep tested to 4.5GHz.
Belden is the only cable manufacturer to extend testing to 4.5GHz to cover the third harmonic frequency of 1080p, thus assuring broadcasters and broadcast equipment manufacturers of high performance and reliability as they migrate from the existing 1080i (interlaced) HD format to the emerging 1080p (progressive) format.
