Coaxial cables meet new broadcast standards
SDI coaxial cables are now specified for operation at 4.5GHz, with every reel being sweep tested for return loss and certified to the new, higher frequency.
The FRNC 1855ENx performs at higher frequencies for digital applications (SD/HD) and can be used at lower frequencies for analogue applications.
It can also be used for distributing RGB and sync signals over extended distances.
Cables have a minimum return loss of 24dB at all frequencies up to 1500MHz and the coaxes are pre-timed to less than 4.0ns/m delay difference between each coax.

Speaker cables promise precise sound quality
The HomeChoice TruAudio range of speaker cables is designed for indoor/outdoor/buried residential applications.
The high-velocity, low-loss PE di-electric ensures low attenuation over long distances as well as improved timing.
Standard bundled halogen-free coax cables are notoriously stiff and difficult to strip for termination, especially when rated for IEC 332-1 use.
This new cable overcomes these problems because it is made with flexible halogen-free plastic.
It can be used inside or outside as it is UV-resistant and flexible in temperatures as low as -40C.
Werner Eich, Belden EMEA Marketing Manager for Entertainment says: 'These new video cables are suitable for a whole variety of digital and analogue uses in virtually any situation".
"They are able to transmit signals over extended distances".
The cable offers low attenuation and easier termination, thanks to its solid copper centre conductor.
The dielectric, surrounded by the foil layer of the shield, can be removed very easily for BNC connectors to minimise any potential for conductor-to-shield shorts.
It can also be held in place for RCA and F-style connectors.
The round, uniform, matte black flexible FRNC jacket protects the cable, providing a professional appearance and proper boot fit together with easy flexing for installation and equipment hook-up.
Cable jackets are meter-marked for tracking during installation and coaxes are colour-coded to provide easy identification.
This broadcast quality cable is constructed with foil under braid shielding, making it easier to terminate.
The cable suits use with high or standard-definition serial digital video and digital audio (such as AES3id or SPDiF), high-resolution RGB component analogue video.
It is also suitable for multiple runs of composite video signals such as SDI or HDTV and can be used for unbalance mode analogue or digital video (AES/EBU).
It is available with 250 and 500m put-ups in bundles of three, five and six coaxes.
The insulation is gas-injected HDPE foam.
Shielding is 100% Duofoil combined with 90% tinned copper braid while individual coax jackets and overall jacket are FRNC/LSNH.
The cable is designed to fit BNC, RCA and F-style connectors.
