Supplies cover wider temperature range
Bear Power Supplies has released its BP1 series power supplies in industry-standard PCB-mountable packages.
Bear Power Supplies has released its BP1 series power supplies in industry-standard PCB-mountable packages.
Operating from -40 to + 70C, these encapsulated power supplies offer a greater operating temperature range than any other commercial power supply on the market.
They are ideal for harsh applications such as outdoor security or industrial manufacturing systems.
The BP1 series package is a drop-in replacement for a number of industry standard commercial power supplies, offering higher performance and reliability at a competitive price.
Standard models are available with 5, 10 and 15W ratings with output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15 and 24V.
Input voltage is 90 to 264V AC.
Full load operating temperature range is -40 to +60C, with half-load operation up to +70C; storage temperature range is -40 to +85C (all 0 to 95% humidity).
Bear power supplies incorporate active inrush current limiting, which is effective over the entire operating temperature range, unlike the resistor-based inrush current limiting used in most a commercial power supplies.
This results in longer life and fewer nuisance fuse failures.
All Bear power supplies include overvoltage protection and are CE marked and FCC Class B compliant.
"Reliable power over this wide temperature range is essential for electronic systems requiring high reliability and long life", said Peter Growney, Global Sales Manager at Bear.
"For example, outdoor security systems are often mounted in hard-to-reach areas, such as on high poles, where the temperature range is extreme and servicing the unit is highly inconvenient".
"Machines in foundries and manufacturing plants can run extremely hot, and downtime is very expensive".
"Bear power modules provide long, trouble-free operation in these demanding environments".
The BP1 series power supplies are available from stock, starting as low as $30 each in volume.
