Big claims for ultraminiature convertors

A Bear Power Supplies product story

High-voltage DC/DC convertors are claimed to offer up to five times better efficiency and ten times better load regulation than similar products on the market.

Bear Power Supplies reckons its new BPS Series high-voltage DC/DC convertors offer up to five times better efficiency and ten times better load regulation than similar products on the market.

These high-reliability isolated 1.5W convertors are ideal for powering PIN diodes and APDs in applications such as RF transceivers, programmable filters, and industrial and scientific instruments.

The ultraminiature encapsulated package is only 12.7 x 12.7 x 10.2mm and weighs just 4g.

Both through-hole and SMT versions are available.

BPS Series convertors have a single input voltage (configurable from 3 to 12V DC) and a single output voltage (configurable from 50 to 220V DC).

They operate from -55 to +85C with no heatsink or electrical derating required.

Price is from US $65 in volume.

The new DC/DC convertor is a significant expansion of Bear's standard product line, previously consisting of rugged, encapsulated AC/DC power supplies.

The company also makes a wide range of custom power supplies.
