Training takes contract staff to new
levels
All operatives at the Welwyn Garden City plant of contract electronics manufacturer BI Electronics are currently being trained to a level usually the reserve of multinational manufacturers.
All operatives at the Welwyn Garden City plant of contract electronics manufacturer BI Electronics are currently being trained to meet the internationally recognised IPC-A-610 (acceptability of electronic assemblies) criteria, a level of instruction usually the reserve of multinational manufacturers The training is being undertaken internally by Geraldine Herbert and Jennifer Bozier, who recently completed the comprehensive IPC class A instructor training course run by Advanced Rework Technology (ART)

Operatives at BI Electronics are being trained in all aspects of production and covers terms and definitions, handling of electronic and electromechanical assemblies, component recognition and installation, box build, soldering, cleanliness, marking, coatings, laminate conditions and discrete wiring and surface-mount assemblies.
