Responding to growing demand for its nanometer design for manufacturing (DFM) solutions, BindKey Technologies has expanded its worldwide sales and service presence in the USA and Asia.

Responding to growing demand for its nanometer design for manufacturing (DFM) solutions, BindKey Technologies has expanded its worldwide sales and service presence in the USA and Asia.

The company has opened sales offices in Austin, Texas, and Sunnyvale, California, and completed its Asian distribution channel by adding three distributors based in Korea, Taiwan and Singapore.

"Semiconductor designers worldwide are feeling the pain from the explosion of design rules they encounter using today's nanometer process technologies", said Jeff Menkes, BindKey Vice President of Sales.

"That's why we're seeing rapidly growing interest in our rules-driven design products.

We're now equipped to respond quickly and expertly to our customers wherever they are in the USA or Asia".

The Austin office supports customers in the central and eastern USA, while the Sunnyvale office supports the western region.

Both offices are managed by veteran sales executives in electronic design automation (EDA) and staffed by senior engineers who have more than 15 years experience in full custom design and EDA, including the tools of all major EDA vendors.

In Asia, the company has added Maojet Technology Corp as its distributor in Taiwan, Davan Tech Co in Korea, and BlueChips Technology in Singapore, Malaysia, and India.

In Japan, BindKey continues to be represented by Innotech Corp.

"We've assembled Asia's most highly qualified and respected distributors", Menkes said.

"Innotech and our three new Asian distributors were selected because they are committed to technical and customer support of full custom IC design, which is common throughout Asia and where our products are targeted.

With our partners in Asia, we expect to see broad adoption of BindKey products".

BindKey's product line includes RapiDesignClean used during physical layout of nanometer ICs.

RapiDesignClean provides continuous design rule notification so that violations can be identified and corrected in real time.

RapiDesignClean identifies where structures can be placed in compliance with design rules without creating violations.

It also provides a design mode that prevents creation or placement of structures that violate design rules.

RapiDesignClean is used in conjunction with Cadence Virtuoso layout editor and Virtuoso-XL layout editor.

The company is currently beta testing a complementary product that will deliver major productivity advances in rules-driven design.
