BindKey Technologies has joined the Cadence Connections Programme, a third-party software programme offered by Cadence Design Systems to encourage interoperability between software tools.

BindKey Technologies has joined the Cadence Connections Programme, a third-party software programme offered by Cadence Design Systems to encourage interoperability between software tools.

Membership in Cadence Connections will strengthen integration of BindKey's RapiDesignClean rules-driven layout software with Cadence custom IC layout solutions, including Virtuoso Layout Editor and Virtuoso XL Layout Editor.

RapiDesignClean solves the problem of creating DRC clean custom layout that complies with the exceedingly complex rules for today's nanometer designs.

"At 90nm, mask designers face rules manuals that are as thick as large city phone books and rules sets that contain nearly 2000 rules", said Jim Jordan, BindKey's Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.

"Designers can no longer memorise the staggering volume of rules and need tools to assure a clean design while maintaining high productivity.

RapiDesignClean is the first tool to address these problems and deal with the full range and complexity of leading-edge design rules".
