A very low power data acquisition and logging unit for battery-powered remote measurement systems has been announced by BitBox of Basingstoke Developed for use in monitoring marine environmental sensors in remote locations both on and off shore, the DAB board has a very low current (100uA) deep sleep mode, with automatic wake-up driven by its own real time clock
The small size and low power requirement make the unit applicable to solar powered remote stations, or to small submersible or towed battery operated sensor modules.
Based on the Intel 80188 micro, the DAB includes ten high-speed serial ports, 64Mbyte of memory, PCMCIA expansion, 32 x 16bit analogue and 32 digital inputs, and is flash firmware upgradable.
