PCIbus digitiser card offers 5Gsample/s

A Thurlby Thandar Instruments product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Jun 15, 2001

The CompuScope 85G is a single-slot, PCI card capable of performing 8bit analogue/digital conversion at up to 5Gsample/s on two simultaneous channels with 500MHz analogue bandwidth.

The CompuScope 85G, now available in the UK from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), is a state-of-the-art, single-slot, PCI card capable of performing 8bit analogue/digital conversion at sampling rates of up to 5Gsample/s on two simultaneous channels with 500MHz analogue bandwidth.

The single-slot, full-length card measures 13.0 x 3.9 x 0.8in.

Oscilloscope-like analogue amplifiers provide low-noise flexible signal conditioning for a wide variety of applications.

The CompuScope 85G uses advanced FISO (fast-in/slow-out) technology from Tektronix to provide two simultaneous high-quality input channels with wide analogue bandwidth and ultra high sampling rate at a very reasonable cost.

An on-chip clocking circuit combined with a robust calibration technique ensures timebase accuracy and long-term thermal stability of sampling rates.

The 10,000-point memory can be used as a circular buffer for the storage of pre- and post-trigger data.

The user may select fewer than 10,000 points of acquisition for shorter records.

Stored data can be transferred to the PC memory for post-processing, display or storage to hard disk without any interface bus (no GPIB/IEEE-488 bus is required).

The CompuScope 85G offers completely programmable input amplifiers including coupling, impedance, gain and offset.

Each channel is independently programmable, allowing different settings on different channels.

The card is compatible with the powerful but easy-to-use GageScope software, which has become an industry standard for high-speed data capture from A/D cards or GPIB DSOs.

It allows the user to capture data in a Windows environment without having to write a single line of programming code.

The powerful features of this software include FFT, averaging, waveform parameters, unattended transient capture and remote operation.

A wide range of software support is available.

Software development kits are offered for C/C++, MATLAB and LabVIEW.

These can be run under Windows 95/98, Win NT and Win 2000.

The CompuScope 85G costs GBP 4282.00.
