Low-cost logic analysers offer up to 48 channels

The LA3200 and LA4800 logic analysers are designed to meet the needs of digital engineers working on low- to medium-speed systems.

The LA3200 and LA4800 logic analysers from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments) are designed to meet the needs of digital engineers working on low- to medium-speed systems.

With a choice of 32 or 48 data channels, each offers 100MHz maximum acquisition speed, 5ns glitch capture, multilevel trigger sequencing and many other advanced features.

A multilevel trigger sequencer provides event counting, branching or restart on each level.

Up to four sequencer words can be used, and each sequencer term can be the logical combination (including NOTs) of any number of sequencer words.

Three external clock inputs, each with its own qualifier, are provided.

Full-width trace control and data qualification are also incorporated.

The analyser can search for a word or block in any memory and compare it with a block in any position in any memory using a bit mask and skew filter.

Conditional repeat allows the acquisition to be stopped on an equality or inequality.

Multiple nonvolatile reference memories are provided for storing data.

Each can be annotated with a user description.

Fourteen nonvolatile setup memories are provided, also with user annotation, so that the complete configurations for a number of jobs can be stored permanently.

The large LCD screen provides a high-resolution display of timing or state data.

Free format control of the state screen enables channels to be combined and repeated in differing radixes at will.

Optional disassembler pods provide support for a range of popular 8 and 16bit microprocessors.

The disassembler software resides within each pod, thus eliminating the need to install special software within the analyser.

The LA4800 offers a number of further facilities including extra reference memories, performance analysis, signature analysis and an analogue display mode.

The price of the LA3200 is GBP 1095 with the LA4800 costing GBP 1395 (prices excluding VAT).
