Now available in the UK from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments) is the Xantrex XPR Series of analogue-controlled programmable DC power supplies with output ratings up to 6kW Featuring power-factor correction, the new power supplies are ideally suited to bulk power applications where analogue functionality is preferred over digital programming

Typical applications include burn-in, electroplating, battery charging, and steering magnets.

With 'soft switching' technology that ensures low-temperature operation and eliminates high-voltage transients that stress power transistors, the XPR Series provides bulk power customers with a more reliable solution than has been available in the past.

Remote analogue control is included as standard on the XPR Series, and allows resistive or voltage programming of the output voltage and current limits.

Models can be upgraded to an isolated version with the ISOL option.

The XPR Series has a straightforward front panel, featuring a seven-segment LED display with several status and alarm and 10-turn knobs for voltage and current control.

The front-panel buttons allows users to conveniently set and view the overvoltage protection set points and the output voltage and current limits.

They also allow output shutdown, and offer the flexibility of toggling control of the power supply between the front panel and remote analogue control.

The XPR 6kW Series includes ten models and carries a five-year warranty.
