The EX355, new from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), is a single-output laboratory DC power supply providing an output from 0 to 35V at 0 to 5A.
Programmable power-supplies offer outputs to 1kW
The XHR range of programmable power supplies, offering output ratings up to 1 kW is power-factor corrected for low current draw and reduced generation of input current harmonics.
GPIB (IEEE488) and RS232 interfaces are fitted, and the units can be locally operated using either numeric or rotary controls.
In addition to the two 4-digit meters, a third display is provided for previewing new voltage or current values, setting increments, or displaying power in watts.
The heart of the TSX series is an advanced regulator design which combines switch-mode preregulation with linear postregulation.
Full active power-factor correction is incorporated.
The preregulator uses specially developed techniques to dramatically reduce the capacitance between input and output, thus eliminating the high levels of common-mode noise normally associated with switch-mode power supplies.
The linear postregulator combines very low levels of output noise with excellent load regulation and transient response.
The result is performance comparable with that of a pure linear design.
The TSX-P series is silent in operation as the high thermal efficiency allows for convection cooling, eliminating the need for a cooling fan.
The units are therefore particularly suitable for use in quiet environments.
The casing is designed for bench or rack mounting, being half-rack width and 3U height.
An optional rack-mount kit is available.
Output terminals are fitted at both front and rear.
Price in the UK is GBP 750 (plus VAT).
