Compact bench power supply provides 175W
The EX355, new from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), is a single-output laboratory DC power supply providing an output from 0 to 35V at 0 to 5A.
Programmable power-supplies offer outputs to 1kW
The XHR range of programmable power supplies, offering output ratings up to 1 kW is power-factor corrected for low current draw and reduced generation of input current harmonics.
Examples of use include running a laptop computer for nine hours or a 19in TV for six hours from a 75Ah battery using the 150W unit.
Available in a range of sizes, the inverters can power a variety of electronic products including televisions, video recorders, fax machines, laptop computers, small power tools and work lights.
The range is available in 150, 300 or 500W models, offering 300, 600 and 1000W surge capacity, respectively.
All three units give an output voltage of 230V +/-5% and an output frequency of 50 +/-3Hz.
The output is a modified sinewave with 90% peak efficiency.
Input voltage can be between 10 and 15V DC.
No-load current draw is less than 0.18A for the 150W unit, less than 0.2A for the 300W unit and less than 0.3A for the 500W model.
Battery connection for the 150W model is via a DC lighter plug and for the 300W model via a DC lighter plug or cable clamps.
For the 500W unit, connection is with cable clamps and hardwire.
The 300 and 500W models have built-in mounting brackets.
Protection features include overtemperature and overload shutdown, low-voltage shutdown at 10V DC, overvoltage shutdown at 15V DC and a low voltage alarm at 10.7V DC.
An LED indicator confirms a faulty connection.
The compact size and weight (63 x 104 x 157mm and 0.65kg for the 150W unit) make the units convenient for use and storage.
Prices start at GBP 45 (plus VAT) for the 150W unit.
