The EX355, new from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), is a single-output laboratory DC power supply providing an output from 0 to 35V at 0 to 5A.
Programmable power-supplies offer outputs to 1kW
The XHR range of programmable power supplies, offering output ratings up to 1 kW is power-factor corrected for low current draw and reduced generation of input current harmonics.
It weighs 3.6 kg.
The EX2020R uses mixed-mode regulation technology which combines switch-mode pre-regulation with linear post-regulation.
Special techniques are used to maintain very high efficiency while achieving noise levels that are close to that of a pure linear regulator.
To match its high current capability, the power supply incorporates remote sense terminals which can eliminate the effects of connection lead resistance.
Sensing can be selected as remote or local through a front-panel switch.
The EX2020R incorporates separate four-digit voltage and current meters, giving resolutions of 10mV and 10mA respectively.
The meters use bright 14mm (0.56in) LED displays and have an update rate of four per second, providing near-instantaneous response.
Line and load regulation are both better than 0.01%, and output noise is less than 2mV RMS, even at full power.
High-resolution controls allow accurate setting of voltage and current levels.
The unit has been designed to meet the stringent requirements of relevant IEC standards for safety and EMC.
The output is intrinsically short-circuit proof, and is protected against external voltages and reverse currents.
Low heat output ensures that no part of the PSU suffers excessive temperature rise.
