Budget function generator boasts 10ppm
accuracy
A new low-cost 20MHz function generator offers all the advantages of direct digital synthesis.
The TG2000, new from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), is a 20MHz function generator that uses direct digital synthesis (DDS) yet costs less than GBP 500 Direct digital synthesis delivers low-distortion sinewaves with improved spectral purity in comparison to analogue function generators

Compact bench power supply provides 175W
The EX355, new from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), is a single-output laboratory DC power supply providing an output from 0 to 35V at 0 to 5A.
Programmable power-supplies offer outputs to 1kW
The XHR range of programmable power supplies, offering output ratings up to 1 kW is power-factor corrected for low current draw and reduced generation of input current harmonics.
Frequency stability and phase noise are excellent, and absolute frequency accuracy is better than 10ppm.
The TG2000 is a fully digitally controlled generator in which all functions including wave shape, frequency, amplitude, offset and modulation can be controlled from the digital interface (USB) or by recall from the internal setup memories.
This makes it particularly suitable for automated or repetitive test applications.
The generator incorporates fully phase-continuous sweep, linear or logarithmic, with sweep times variable between 50ms and 1000s.
The sweep trigger source can be internal or external (including USB command), and a sweep marker is provided.
Other modulation modes include AM, gated, FSK and tone-switch using a table of up to 16 frequencies.
The TG2000 can generate frequencies between 0.001Hz and 20MHz to six digits of resolution at amplitudes between 5mV and 20V peak-to-peak EMF.
Source impedance is switchable between 50 and 600ohm.
A USB interface is incorporated which can provide full remote control of the instrument.
Nine internal nonvolatile setup memories are also provided.
The TG2000 is housed in a 2U high casing which, although primarily intended for bench use, can also be rack mounted.
The TG2000 costs GBP 499.00 (plus VAT) in the UK.
