The Yokogawa Datum Y is a compact data logger for remote and portable applications.

The Yokogawa Datum Y, a compact data logger for remote and portable applications, is now available in the UK from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments).

The Datum Y is a portable data logger that directly measures and acquires temperatures and DC voltages.

Two configurations of input terminals offer eight or 16 channels, and each individual channel can be set independently through insulated inputs.

Datarates up to 100ms per reading are possible, and data can be saved in binary or ASCII format, enabling direct transfer into Microsoft Excel.

The Datum Y uses a colour TFT LCD screen offering a wide-angle view.

Recordings can be viewed as waveform, digital, bar graph and waveform plus digital.

Up to eight channels can be displayed on one screen or in up to four user-defined groups.

Large amounts of acquired data can be stored on external storage media such as CompactFlash or SP cards (up to 512Mbyte).

Data can be transferred to USB memory for easy transfer to a PC.

A full set of communication interfaces are provided, including RS232, RS485, USB and LAN.

Datum Y supports protocols for Ethernet connection, allowing single or multiple units to be controlled and monitored via an Intranet LAN.

The compact ruggedised unit can be used with a universal AC mains adapter or the internal lithium battery, which provides approximately 7h operation.
