Blazepoint has formed a partnership with Itronix to engineer the current and future range of Itronix rugged products to ultrarugged standards for military and specialised commercial purposes.

Blazepoint has formed a partnership with Itronix Corp of Spokane, USA.

Itronix will use Blazepoint's 20 years experience in the areas of design, development, testing and manufacture of rugged computers and peripherals to engineer the current and future range of Itronix rugged products to ultrarugged standards for military and specialised commercial purposes.

Itronix, a successful US corporation with an annual turnover of $150 million specialises in the telecomms, emergency services, transport and rugged military markets.

Itronix has a desire to double turnover within 3 years with an emphasis on the military market and has appointed Sandy McCaskie as EMEA Business Development Director (Military) to drive this business forward.

Commenting on the agreement, Tom Turner, President and CEO of Itronix Corp stated: "This partnership with Blazepoint will, through joint teamwork, utilise the engineering capabilities of both companies to enhance our products and offer the military customer heterogeneous solutions to meet their exact project requirements".

Roger Wadsworth, Executive Chairman of Blazepoint, adds: "Partnering with Blazepoint will improve the access of Itronix to a market which requires a proven success record in delivering product acceptable to multinational armed forces with minimised development costs".

Outsourcing its ultrarugged military engineering requirements to Blazepoint will release Itronix resource to focus on new product development, thus ensuring a continuous product road map of COTS based equipment readily adaptable to the military market.

"We are delighted to welcome Blazepoint as an engineering partner", comments Sandie McCaskie of Itronix.

"This agreement clearly demonstrates the commitment of Itronix to building synergistic relationships to meet and exceed the demands of our customers".

"Blazepoint's engineering capabilities will afford timely delivery of tailor made solutions for the Defence market".

Blazepoint's Chalgrove facilities offer design, engineering, EMC, Tempest and Mil Std testing capabilities to 810 and 461.

Blazepoint's existing range of rugged printers, laptops and rack systems compliment the Itronix range and it is intended to use the successful COTS based Itronix product as a platform for some new and exciting ultrarugged offerings.

Blazepoint's engineering skills and flexibility to integrate new technology with legacy systems will play a key part in ensuring the success of any new product developments that arise from this partnership.
