BLT Circuit Services has completed its 17th lead free wave soldering conversion using its nonpatented lead free alloy LFB227/S.

BLT Circuit Services has completed its 17th lead free wave soldering conversion using its nonpatented lead free alloy LFB227/S.

All 17 machines are working in the UK market processing a number of different board types with different lead free finishes with no reported problems whatsoever.

The LFB227/S is based on low percentages of silver to enhance the flow characteristics of this lead free nonpatented alloy while keeping dross production to a minimum when compared with industry standard SAC alloys.

When using nitrogen casting techniques the dross is almost completely eliminated.

Special antioxidant additives are included for "in-bath reductions of dross", thus ensuring operating costs are kept to a minimum.
