Blue2Space has announced that its product range has met all Bluetooth certification requirements and passed a set of FCC and ETSI regulatory tests.

Stockholm-based developer of extended-range wireless Bluetooth networking solutions Blue2Space has announced that its product range has met all Bluetooth certification requirements and passed a set of FCC and ETSI regulatory tests.

The commercial distribution of Blue2Space's first family of Bluetooth products has therefore begun.

The range includes the: BlueBall Ethernet Communicator - a true plug-and-play communications Ethernet adapter and LAN access point for Bluetooth, including omnidirectional antenna; the BlueBall RS232 Serial Communicator - a true plug-and-play RS232 serial communications adapter and access point including omnidirectional antenna; and the BlueBall Accessor - a high-gain antenna enabling Bluetooth communications up to 1km using either Ethernet or Serial Communicators.

Used together, the company claims they enable first-generation Bluetooth networking for standard cable replacement and are suitable for both home or industrial use, including factory automation, retail outlets, security firms, telemetry and LAN applications.

Blue2Space has already shipped to over 40 customers, representing a total shipment value of about $150,000 during June.

Sales over the next few months are expected to exceed $1,000,000.

Orders have been placed in Sweden, Germany, Japan, France and the USA.

Second-generation products will follow within the next few months, enabling full Bluetooth networking with wireless access points and full routing capabilities.

A new family of smart antennas for mobile applications will shortly complement the range.
