The Bookham Intelligent Optical Platform series of products will be on display at this week's OFC/NFOEC on Stand 2213 (at the Anaheim Convention Center, California).
The Intelligent Optical Platform series is designed for reconfigurable networks supporting a wide variety of optical configurations, from fixed optical add/drop modules and amplifiers to wavelength selective switches.
The series integrates optical components with the modular hardware and software architecture, enabling easy integration and high performance while reducing R and D costs for customers.
"Bookham is a major player in the delivery of subsystems", said Robert Baker, VP of Product Management at Bookham.
"The highly integrated Intelligent Optical Platform amplifier maximises value by reducing system development cost, allowing our customers to focus on key revenue producing activities".
"The network level interfaces on the Intelligent Optical Platform amplifier provide easy access to the high performance optical capability, further reducing R and D cost".
"The end goal is to enable our customers to acquire maximum return on their R and D budget".
The Intelligent Optical Platform amplifier represents the company's evolutionary progression from optical components and modules, into higher functionality and more integrated systems.
Bookham plans to expand the subsystem range to service specific optical requirements for a variety of lead customers.
