Broadcom's BCM2045 transceiver is the most widely used Bluetooth chip in mobile phones, and its BTW software has become the most widely deployed Windows-based software in the industry.

As a short range wireless technology, Bluetooth continues to grow in many market segments including in Windows Mobile and PDA mobile computing devices.

Broadcom delivers to this handheld market advanced wireless features and functionality that had only been previously available on notebook and desktop PC platforms.

Today's announcement demonstrates Broadcom's continued leadership in the Bluetooth mobile computing market.

Broadcom's advanced software and unique ability to enable the most up to date applications has provided the company with significant traction in new phone designs worldwide and a dominant position in this market.

"We are very pleased that Asus selected our complete Bluetooth technology for their new PDA phones, providing consumers with advanced mobile platform features enabled on Windows", said Scott Bibaud, Vice President and General Manager of Broadcom's Bluetooth line of business.

"Our success with Asus also validates our continued strength in mobile phone handset devices of all types, from entry-level phones to high-end smartphones and PDA/handheld computers".

Broadcom BTW-PPC/PE software is the most advanced Windows-based Bluetooth software in the industry, enabling the broadest range of functionality and richest selection of Bluetooth software "profiles" available.

Providing advanced features, such as the ability to remotely control the Windows Media player application and PowerPoint presentations, BTW-PPC/PE software enables notebook-class Bluetooth features on PDA and smartphone devices.

The combination of BCM2045 silicon and BTW-PC software is the most powerful Bluetooth solution in the industry, with an unmatched combination of performance, power, speed, features, radio sensitivity, board space, and field-proven profiles and stack software.

The Asus P535 Triband PDA phone incorporates full wireless functionality, GPS and a high-quality auto-focus camera in a compact form factor that offers a comprehensive spread of business and lifestyle applications in an exceedingly handy platform.

The P535 helps the business executive stay connected while on-the-move, offering push e-mail, Internet access, and off-site synchronisation of calendar and contact information over wireless (802.11b+g) or mobile phone GPRS networks.

Coupled with the ability to view and edit office documents, the P535 PDA phone is an indispensable power tool for the mobile, dynamic workspace.
