Flat transformers boost convertor power density
Broadband TelCom Power (BTCPower) has used patented flat transformer technology to redefine performance of the industry-standard quarter-brick (58 x 37 x 11mm) DC/DC convertor.
Efficiency figures for this range are in excess of 90% and they can deliver full power at up to 70C with no heatsink or air flow, all in a tiny 1 x 1.5in package.
They offer two wide input voltage ranges of 18-36V models and 36-72V options.
Output voltages are 1.5, 1.8, 2.5, 3.3 and 5V.
All models feature input pi filters, input under voltage lockout, output current limiting, and short circuit protection.
The aluminium case achieves efficient heat transfer and 100% EMI screening.
The converters combine creative design concept and conservative component selection to achieve very high reliability, high performance and low cost.
S15 and S25 features include: a low profile of only 0.35in; 1500V, 10Mohm input-to-output isolation; input unde-voltage lockout; output current limit and short circuit protection.
