The BTCPower SHQ Series, now available exclusively in the UK from Hunter Electronics, is a family of quarter-brick DC/DC convertors offering a current output of up to 60A.

The new family answers the continued demands in telecommunication and industrial applications for DC/DC convertors with high current output at low voltages.

The SHQ series is a single-board, open-frame, synchronously rectified design which uses BTCPower's patented and patent pending flat matrix transformer technologies to offer exceptionally high current density, with output current up to 60A at 1.8 and 1.5 VDC and 50A at 3.3 and 2.5V DC.

Other features include a wide output voltage adjustment trim of +15% and -20%, zero turn-on overshoot to provide a very clean and reliable operating environment for the system, high efficiency of up to 92%, and excellent thermal de-rating of up to 37A output at 1.8V DC at 70C with 200litre/min airflow.

With the SHQ series, BTCPower has again demonstrated its ability to deliver a high current-density convertor in the industry standard quarter-brick footprint.

The SHQ series not only supports customers' existing requirements, but also provides the roadmap for future applications requiring high-current density with added features such as zero turn-on overshoot.

The SHQ series features multiple 7.2mm flat matrix transformer cores to give the high 60A current density.

In a typical high-efficiency convertor, the efficiency drops as the output current increases in proportion to the square of the current.

The flat matrix transformer design enables precise sharing of output current delivered by each of the multiple cores, thereby reducing the loss at the rectification stage.
