The TTC 2530 is a bench-mounted four-stage ultrasonic cleaning machine for printed circuit boards or electronic assemblies.
The Blundell Lead Detection Pen is easy to use.
Simply swipe the tip of the pen over any surface - for instance a PCB pad, a component leg, a solder bar or roll of solder wire.
If the swab on the pen's tip turns bright pink, lead is present in the swiped surface.
Each pen is sealed in an airtight packet and is ready for use as soon as it is removed.
The pens are designed single use and cannot be re-used.
The entire test procedure can be completed in 30s, and there is even a test confirmation card enclosed to verify the test results.
The test can be incorporated into ISO procedures to ensure that lead contamination does not creep into lead-free processes.
Blundells' Managing Director Paul Blundell says: "This test is especially important during the changeover period from tin-lead to lead-free processing, when mistakes can easily be made due to careless material handling or incorrect deliveries from suppliers".
