Hot on the heels of the success of the Yamaha iPulse M1 and M2 machines comes the new lower cost iPulse M4, with the option of intelligent feeders Designed to meet the need of the medium volume surface mount placement market, the M4 uses the same on-the-fly scanning system as the established iPulse M1 and the M2 machines

Available in the UK from Blundell Production Equipment, the M4 is rated at 12,500 components per hour for 0603 chips, and 3700 components per hour for QFP and BGA.

In common with its higher speed brother, the M4 has a feeder capacity of up to 120 positions.

Stacking tray feeders are also available.

The M4's camera system allows high speed placement of a whole range of components including 0201, BGA, CSP and flip chip.

The new intelligent feeder system allows the user to verify the integrity of the machine setup automatically.

Component data is assigned to each feeder during set up via a barcode reader.

When the feeders are loaded onto the machine, they are interrogated by the software and any mis-locations are automatically identified before production starts.

iPulse is wholly owned by the Yamaha Motor Group of Japan, and has the weight of Yamaha's international reputation firmly behind it.

Blundell Production equipment has already installed M4's in the UK at Brightwell Dispensers, Cranford Controls and Connevans.

Several more orders are pending.

The M4 brings features normally found on much more expensive machines into easy reach of medium sized PCB assembler.
