Hot-swap PMC carrier will help to keep systems up
The new cPC2PMC from BVM Limited is a 6U Hot Swappable CompactPCI carrier, enabling two PMC modules to be added to a system.
The PMCSCU161 and PMCSCU162 are single- and dual-channel Ultra160 devices based on the LSI53C1000 and LSI53C1010, respectively.
Designed to provide a solution for most SCSI requirements these modules have available drivers for Windows, VxWorks and Solaris.
The onboard Flash can be ordered preprogrammed with a BIOS for Windows environments or FCODE for Solaris environments to allow direct system booting from a SCSI device.
All modules feature conduction cooling enabling them to be used in many harsh environments when mounted on appropriate VMEbus or CompactPCI carriers.
All modules have I/O via a front mounted SCSI III style 68 pin D connector and the dual channel units use in addition the rear I/O connector.
This for instance allows internal devices to be connected via the backplane and portable devices to be plugged into the front panel connector.
