A new 3.5in embedded SBC based on the VIA Eden low power CPU is available now from stock at BVM The WEB-6580 provides top performance in a very small footprint (102 x 147mm) with 400 or 800MHz CPU clock speeds

The VIA Eden provides a high level of integration whilst ensuring total compatibility with the x86 architecture.

In 400MHz format no CPU fan is required enabling small compact and quiet systems to be created.

High performance graphics are included with 4x AGP graphics core, CRT and LCD interfaces and 32Mbyte display memory.

A 10/100BaseT Ethernet interface, IDE and FDD controllers ensure PC compatibility.

Two serial ports, one selectable as RS232/422/485, parallel printer port and dual USB ports complete the line up of standard peripherals.

For embedded applications a watchdog timer ensures automatic system restart and a Compact Flash socket provides low-cost nonvolatile storage which may also be used as the system boot device.

Low-cost expansion modules can be added using the onboard PC/104 connector.

By combining high performance graphics and processing in a compact module, the WEB-6580 has many applications ranging from point of sale/information systems, medical and research facilities to large commercial kiosks.

Furthermore the low power and cooling requirements greatly ease the task of system integration and ensure long-term reliable operation.

Compatible with all popular operating systems the WEB-6580 will open new horizons for embedded systems designers.
